also heavily influenced by her uncle, Dr. Sam Gore, a respected painter and sculptor. Creativity became an ingrained thread in her life, but lay dormant for many years. After raising their children, Susan and her husband were faced with his diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimers. After a period of adjustment, Susan started focusing on the positive and began journaling and putting happy memories on canvas. Smiling-face reactions to her work acted as a catalyst to continue her passion with renewed vision and gratitude.
In the last few years, Susan has participated in many workshops with noted artists and exhibited widely, including juried shows. She is also a member of several associations including International Plein Air Painters and Onslow Outdoor Painters.
